About this printout
This page prints Mini #327 (Sunday, August 23, 2026): a 5×5 grid with two black squares and ten clues, five Across and five Down. The site's navigation and footer are left off the printout, and so are these notes.
Solving on paper
Paper has no Check button, so write lightly where you're unsure. The shortest slot, 1-Across, has only four letters, so it's a good place to start. The shortest clue is 1-Across, “Pleads earnestly”, at two words; the longest is 7-Across, “Like ancient Rome, or a numeral like IV”, at eight words. Clue types to watch for:
- Marked as a short form: 3-Down, “The Olympics, for short”
When you've finished, compare with the answer key for August 23, 2026, or open the hints if you get stuck. Prefer a screen? Play it online. The day before, Mini #326 (August 22, 2026), opens with 1-Across, “Org. for retired folks (abbr.)”; the day after, Mini #328 (August 24, 2026), opens with 1-Across, “In the middle of”.
