About this printout

Solving on paper
Paper has no Check button, so write lightly where you're unsure. The shortest slot, 1-Across, has only four letters, so it's a good place to start. The shortest clue is 1-Down, “Restaurant check”, at two words; the longest is 3-Down, “Stove burner setting, or a mountain chain”, at seven words. None of the ten clues is a fill-in-the-blank, a quotation, a question-mark clue or a marked short form.
